Did you know that VELTUFF® is not some corporate workwear provider, instead we are a family business who carry a passion and care to provide everyone with safety and protective workwear?
The Calder family name is well established in the industry. The UK parent company BACA Safety & Workwear Ltd was established in 1966 in Northampton, England, with the addition of the VELTUFF® brand in 1996. VELTUFF® is now a global brand with head offices in Denmark & the UK and sales offices in France, Germany, Netherlands & Sweden. In the early stages of the VELTUFF® brand the business decided to deliver directly to the end consumer, making a lot of noise in the industry by cutting out the middleman and attracting major brands to our growth. With the launch of this website late in 2021 we now have a platform for all customers to come and see for themselves why we are a trusted brand across Europe.
1996:
VELTUFF® Real Work clothes
VELTUFF® Real Work clothing is a brand manufactured by BACA Safety & Workwear Ltd. The logo is an elephant. This would represent the fundamental values of roughness and lifespan.
2002:
Due to the successful start of VELTUFF®, we needed new buildings in Northampton.
BACA Safety & Workwear Ltd purchased new offices and warehouse properties in Northampton.
2003:
Our story in Denmark begins.
Jim Calder, Lewis Calder's eldest son, travelled to Denmark with his family to create BACA outside of the UK. It was renamed BACA WORKING DIRECT and began at his Lyngby garage. It is now part of the VELTUFF® business.
2013:
In Denmark, new buildings are needed due to our growth.
VELTUFF® purchased new offices and warehousing facilities in Brøndby.
2014:
Sweden - hello neighbour!
VELTUFF® opens a sales office in Stockholm and begins to focus efforts on the Swedish market. Now Sweden is famous for meatballs and VELTUFF®.
2015:
Our European tour continues. VELTUFF® is now in the Netherlands.
The BENELUX department was founded. With 75 people, we began delivering to giant corporations with subsidiaries throughout Europe.
2016:
Celebrations as our UK parent company BACA Safety & Workwear Ltd has been in operation for 50 years.
With approximately 100 colleagues from Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands and England, we celebrated our 50th anniversary.
2017:
New Danish Headquarters
BACA's Danish headquarters moved into a new larger office, and BACA ultimately modernized its warehouse and IT systems. All of this is part of a plan to increase delivery capacity and allow for ongoing expansion.
2017:
Our European tour is back on in both Germany and France.
With new opportunities for VELTUFF® we opened two offices in each country because location, location, location.
2019:
Northampton expansion - we needed even more space!
To continue plans for the considerable expansion, VELTUFF® purchased a new warehouse in Northampton, just a short walk down the road from HQ.
2020:
We open in the UK North! Good thing we sell padded coats.
On June 1st, a new shop and showroom supporting the North of England opened in Preston, Lancashire.
2021:
The launch of veltuff.co.uk & veltuff.com websites, stay tuned for more.
