Packaging Fee
Required by Danish and EU law. Applies to orders placed from 1 November 2026, on order confirmations and invoices for deliveries in Denmark.
Denmark has introduced producer responsibility for packaging. The company that brings packaging onto the Danish market pays for its collection and recycling. For goods we import, that company is VELTUFF A/S, whatever the brand.
What it is: A cost set by legislation, passed on per piece.
What it is not: A VELTUFF price increase. Product prices are unchanged.
Why
- 1 Jan 2025: Danish law makes whoever first brings packaged goods into Denmark pay for that packaging, per kg, through Dansk Producentansvar.
- 12 Aug 2026: EU Packaging Regulation 2025/40 applies. Cartons, film and pallets unpacked in Denmark are now included, whatever the brand.
- 1 Nov 2026: The fee applies to orders placed from this date. Orders placed earlier are not charged, even if delivered later.
The rules apply to every company that imports packaged goods into Denmark. The law does not let us transfer the obligation by contract. It does let us pass on the cost. Other workwear suppliers in Denmark already charge the same fee.
What it covers
- Packaging scheme contribution, per kg by material and recyclability
- Dansk Producentansvar fee, DKK 0,075 per kg
- Danish EPA (Miljøstyrelsen) fee, DKK 0,018 per kg
- Transport packaging removed from goods in Denmark
- A 20 % administration share for reporting, annual control and rate changes
How it is calculated
Per piece: packaging weight × the rate for its material, plus the Dansk Producentansvar and Miljøstyrelsen fees. Calculated automatically when your order is released.
Goods from Danish suppliers that already pay for their packaging carry no fee.
Rates are set by the scheme and the authorities. We review them once a year and give you at least 30 days' notice of any change.
Example
One jacket, packed in a plastic bag (20 g, rate 3,033 per kg, DKK 0,06) with a share of the outer carton (35 g, rate 2,643 per kg, DKK 0,09), plus the 20 % administration share (DKK 0,03), comes to DKK 0,18 per jacket. An order of 20 jackets carries a fee of DKK 3,60.
Rates include the Dansk Producentansvar and Miljøstyrelsen fees. Weights vary by product.

The same line appears on the order confirmation. VAT is charged on the fee in the normal way.
